Appointments run about 50 minutes. I tend to see clients weekly to start in order to build a relationship and get the best picture of what’s going on for you as I can. However, you are the expert on your life, so the frequency of our appointments is ultimately up to you! It is also common for session frequency changes throughout the course of therapy.

Everybody’s situation is different and the length of the therapy process varies. Some people get what they need from 4-5 sessions, while others may need longer. Most clients attend therapy an average of 8-20 sessions.

ADHD evaluations typically take 3-5 sessions to complete. We will first discuss your background, mental and medical history, and also family history. After that, I administer and score rating scales. Finally, we talk about the results and next steps.

Because a first therapy session can feel anxiety-provoking, I aim to meet you where you're at. It is so important to me as a therapist that you feel comfortable and emotionally safe in our therapy appointments. We build this sense of trust through talking about your goals for therapy, your past experiences in mental health treatment, and any concerns you may have in starting this process.

The law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and psychotherapist. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client.
However, there are some exceptions required by law to this rule. These exceptions include:
Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. The therapist is required to notify the police.
If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will make every effort to work with the individual to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.
By using insurance, the client allows their insurance company to access confidential information. This is the only way insurance will pay for sessions.
